I. Human Form
I. Human Form
The Human Form collection explores the body as both subject and structure at once anatomical, expressive, and intimate. Through a combination of detailed studies and abstracted interpretations, this body of work examines physical presence alongside emotional resonance.
This collection is divided into three ongoing projects:
Anatomical Studies
Precise pencil and red-pen drawings that take a patient, observational approach to the body. Influenced by classical anatomical illustration and scientific study, these works focus on structure, proportion, and form, allowing subtlety and restraint to carry their impact.
Abstracted Figures
Large-scale painted works that move away from realism in favour of colour, distortion, and emotional intensity. These pieces aim to capture psychological presence rather than literal likeness, using bold palettes and dramatic mark-making to convey feeling.
Playful Anatomy
A more intimate and experimental exploration of bodily fragments, lips, tongues, ears, where sensuality, curiosity, and humour coexist. This project embraces closeness and immediacy, inviting the viewer to engage with the body in a less formal, more personal way.
Together, these projects present the human form not as a single idea, but as a shifting subject; scientific, emotional, and deeply expressive.
